McArthur-Burney Falls CA
Trying to photograph this waterfall due to the insane amount of mist this waterfall produces was unlike any I have experienced. I have now been to around 45 waterfalls—so that’s saying something.This location was high on my list when we planned this road trip and it lived up to all of my expectations.In order to achieve this long exposure I was forced to drench my camera while I adjusted the settings and locked the focus in. I had to switch from auto to manual in order to preserve those focus adjustments and then wipe the lens off to place the lens cap back on and all without moving the camera—only to play the waiting game in hopes for the wind to change directions so my lens wouldn’t immediately be misted when I was ready to take my shot. I spent at least an hour repeating this process until I finally achieved gold. So worth it if you ask me 😌
