Delta Lake Grand Teton National Park is one of the most incredibly beautiful hikes and landscape I have ever experienced. It was 8.2 miles out and back. 2400 feet of elevation change, with the last mile being an off-trail rock scramble at high altitude. A little under 9,000ft in elevation with 28lbs of camera gear on my back made this hike somewhat difficult, but it was worth every ache and pain that came the following day. We started from the trailhead around 12:45pm. We had the whole place to ourselves for about 2.5hrs and made it back down just before sunset at 7:20pm. Other than a few deer and some distant moose screeching like the Nazgul from lord of the rings, we fortunately avoided all dangerous wildlife. Overall this was an amazing adventure that I hope to experience again one day. 10/10 recommend this hike if you’re visiting The Tetons.
